Cabrera has had back to back AL MVP seasons in 2012 and 2013. He has also won 3 straight AL Batting Titles. Cabrera is the best player offensively in the universe. He has put up 10 straight 100+ RBI campaigns, but he has racked in 276 RBI, and also 88 HRs. The 11 Year Veterans totals would have even been higher in 2013, but he fought a torn groin for the last half of the year. In his 10.5 seasons, he has smacked 791 XBH, if he can muscle out 674 XBH for the next decade, he could surpass Hank Aaron for 1st on the ALL – Time Extra Base Hits List. As he stands right now, he is already on the periphery of the Active top 10 list for the category right now at 12th (791 XBH).

Now that I have taken a break from the MLB Active players list, I am going to do what I was supposed to do yesterday.
Just remember that this is the list we are going to do at the MLB Reports.
If a player has been removed from the MLB for at least 1 year, and it is not injury related, or the guy is not plugging away in the Minors for a comeback.
Having said this, I am still going to leave Bobby Abreu off of this active list.
I am also throwing out Todd Helton, because he has put forth his retirement papers.
Adrian Beltre Highlights 2013 Season
Adrian Beltre is still not receiving enough credit for his overall play in the MLB during the last 4 years. The 34 Year Old (elder stateman of the club) hit for a 3 Slash of .315/.380/.880 in 2013, and finished 7th in AL MVP Voting. He led the AL with 199 hits last campaign. In 3 seasons with Texas, the man has an OPS of ,898 – while cracking 98 HRs and 299 RBI in 441 Games Played. Added to his credentials, were an additional 198 XBH. Beltre is already 5th in Active Doubles with 495, and may end up in the top 5 ALL – Time for that category, if he can club out 173 2 base hits in the remainder of his career to pass Craig Biggio The 16 year veteran may also challenge the top 10 in XBH of ALL – Time, as he is just 295 behind Frank Robinson currently.. Would 500 HRs, 670 – 2B and 30 3B land the man in the Baseball Hall of Fame? Beltre also has 2426 hits, and would need to average just 144 base knocks over the next 4 campaigns to pass 3000 for his career. The man also has 4 Gold Gloves and 3 Silver Slugger’s to pad his resume..
I will also leave Alex Rodriguez on the list, because despite his 162 game suspension, this man wants to make a comeback to the league next year – even though people hate the guy and wish for him never to see the dirt of a ballpark ever again.

Once again, I am pointing out that Adrian Beltre is one of the most underrated players in MLB History.
At age 34 (will be 35 in April), the Rangers player has a nice chance to be productive in the next 4 -5 years.
The 3B has averaged 66 XBH in the last 3 campaigns for Texas, and there is no reason why he should slow down that significantly in the next few seasons at least.
Lets just say that he only cracks 149 XBH from 2014 – 2016, he will be at 1050 XBH (placing him in the top 25 of ALL – Time) by the start of the 2017.
At Age 38, he may have 1 or 2 years left at the worst, and possibly 3 – 4 years at the best of times. By then he will probably be a DH, or a part time player.
It is in the realm of possibility he can hit 137 XBH past the age of 38 (or 285 XBH from right now), and this could place the man in the top 10 of the ALL – Time list.
Miguel Cabrera has already clubbed 791 XBH (and will turn 31 on Apr.18/2004). This year he will enter the top 10 active list. He could easily punch out 209 XBH for the next 3 years.
This should see Cabrera have 1000 XBH by the age of 34. From there, could he hit 477 XBH for the rest of his career, and pass the legendary Hank Aaron?
You have to think he should be able to pass Willie Mays at 1323 lifetime XBH (is 532 behind him right now), with probably 10 seasons left to play.
‘Hammering’ Hank passed the legendary Babe Ruth as the ALL-Time HR leader in 1974. Some still feel that he is the ALL-Time HR leader with the admitted steroid use from Leader Barry Bonds. Not only did Aaron smack a pile of HRs, he is the ALL – time Leader in MLB History for RBI (2297) and XBH – with 1477. He was slow and steady, proving the bat speed and a 28 ounce bat could do a ton of damage.
