Unfortunate news struck the New York Yankees on Friday evening. The club's official Twitter account announced that first baseman Mark Teixeira suffered a strained right hamstring during the team's contest against the Toronto Blue Jays:
The Yankees Twitter account also reported that Teixeira was looked at by Joe Girardi and trainer Steve Donohue. He attempted to stretch his leg but later exited the game:

This injury doesn't seem to be major at first glance; however, Teixeira has ongoing struggles with injuries, and each must be looked at with caution. The first baseman exited his 2013 campaign early after requiring wrist surgery.
This is another unfortunate setback for the Yankees slugger, who is looking for a bounce-back season.
