Washington Nationals Win Runs Survivor Contest (2014 MLB) With 0 – 10 Run Games In 11 Scenarios

The fine folks of Washington have not hosted a World Series game since 1933. This franchise - formerly known as the Expos, also have never appeared in a World Series Game, however they are the winners of the 2014 Team Run Survivor Challenge. In Just 16 games this year, the team has put forth 11 different run totals going from 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 (or 10+) It is a shame they used the Shutout Loss (8 - 0) to the Cardinals Thursday - it also eliminated them from our Shutout Survivor but it was the 11th different total.

This should turn out to be quite fun.  A lot of gambling establishments have this sort of deal, and it will be fun to see the results.


What Runs Survivor is, a MLB team scoring 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 10 or (10+) in different games throughout the course of the season.


Once a club has one of these run totals once, you cross it off and keep going until they complete the 11 different variations.


Here is a look at what we have seen already.

The Royals have not been putting up good run totals all year long.  They haven't hit that many HRs, Mike Moustakas has really struggled - and now Lorenzo Cain has gone on the Disabled List.  They may be a team that finishes near the end of this survivor.  Having said this, the team has rallied to a 7 - 7 record now, and has joined all 4 other AL Central teams at .500 or above to start the 2014 campaign heading into tonight.

In the vaunted AL East the scoring has been down this year.  All you have to do is look at this contest to realize that.  The Bronx Bombers have the best chance of completing their runs survivor - with just having to plate 8 and 9 runs respectively

The AL East will probably have the 1st division to have all 5 teams fill out their entire run sheet card,

I have to go with the Cardinals to complete this mission faster than any of their division rivals.  All St. Louis needs to do is score 9 and 6 runs in a game.  The Cards continue a series in Washington tonight, where the Cubs hosted Cincy and the Bucs are in PNC.

However the team has only had 3 new run totals not previously scored in their last 13 contests.  They are currently tied with the Royals for the fewest run variations.  I wouldn't think they would finish last in this category though with their offense.
