The Boston Red Sox have an embarrassment of riches on their hands. Not only are they the reigning World Series champions, but Baseball America ranks their farm system as the best in all of baseball.

Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr. appear ready for the everyday lineup, but that does not deplete the arsenal of major league-ready prospects in Boston's system.

Players like Brandon Workman, Allen Webster, Matt Barnes and Anthony Ranaudo could easily make the transition. Beyond that, there is still plenty of depth in the organization. The talent is almost scary.

Technically speaking, Bogaerts and Bradley are still considered prospects. If either didn’t make the Opening Day roster it would be more surprising to Red Sox fans than a World Series victory in 2013.

The term "underrated" is vastly subjective. Perhaps it is better to look at this article as an overview of the Red Sox farm system with hopes of discovering which five players may progress ahead of schedule in 2014 and fly up the rankings towards the big dance.
